North Carolina man dies in Rock Hill shooting

ROCK HILL, S.C. (AP) — Police say a 21-year-old Charlotte, N.C., man has been shot and killed at an abandoned home in Rock Hill.

Investigators say Chance Pate was found in a car near Hargett Park with gunshot wounds to his abdomen Wednesday evening. He was taken to the hospital, where he died a short time later.

Police say a witness told officers she heard several shots, then saw Pate crawling from the abandoned home toward the street.

The woman said two men pulled Pate into a car and took off with him still hanging out of the vehicle.

Police don’t have any suspects or a motive for the shooting.
