VIDEO: Gov. Haley Reacts to Criticism on GOP Response

Gaston, S.C. (WOLO) — Governor Nikki Haley’s response to the President’s State of the Union address is getting mixed reviews from members of her own party.

The governor says, “When I think something wrong I say it.”

During the speech Governor Haley took jabs at GOP front runner Donal Trump saying, “During anxious times it can be tempting to follow the siren call of the angriest voices.”
The controversial words are not something she’s apologizing for.
“Look i can appreciate that they’re angry but I said what I believed, I stand by what I believe,” she explains.
Trump fired back during an interview with Fox and Friends early Wednesday morning saying the Governor never has issue asking him for campaign funds.
While the governor is strongly opposed to Trumps’ proposed ban on Muslim immigrants, she says he’s not the only presidential candidate she takes up issue with.
“You know I have disagreements with other presidential candidates: Bush passed common core and Marco Rubio believes in amnesty which I don’t, there’s lots of things so what I would say to Mr.Trump is, don’t take it personally.”
Instead Haley says she hopes all candidates take away the meaning behind the remark.
“Tone matters, message matters, and responsibility matters and so I think as we go forward I think we need to be responsible in our message if we want to get anything done .”
The governor says she has plenty to get done right here in South Carolina so a possible VP nod  is not something that’s on her mind, but it’s also not something she’s ruled out.
