COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – The University of South Carolina hosted one of two “Days of Service” in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Monday.

About 52 students gave up their Saturday mornings, to help out at “God’s Storehouse” off Shakespeare Road in Northeast Columbia.

The roof of the building has been leaking since October’s flooding. Students cleaned up and got everything organized, in preparation for the store’s reopening Tuesday.

Carolina will have another “Day of Service” on Saturday, January 23.
