Cederholm new commander for Beaufort Marines

MARINE CORPS AIR STATION BEAUFORT, S.C. (AP) — Marine Aircraft Group 31 at Beaufort’s air station is getting a new commander and bidding farewell to its current leader.

Col. David Robinson relinquishes command on Friday to Col. Michael Cederholm, who comes to Beaufort after serving in Washington as the military assistant to the assistant secretary of the Navy for research, development and acquisition.

Marine Corps officials say Robinson is slated to retire after Friday’s ceremony. He assumed command in 2009.

During his service with Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 115, Robinson deployed twice to the western Pacific and also augmented Marine units in Iraq.
