Fort Jackson to host Community Wide Tour

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– Now is your chance to see Fort Jackson up close and personal thanks to an invite from the Commanding General.
Major General Roger Cloutier, Jr. is inviting the public to tour of Fort Jackson and take a look at Soldiers in training on February 19th.

According to the official invite, Cloutier, Fort Jackson’s commanding general, will host an eight-hour “Come See Your Army” tour to give local citizens an opportunity to see and experience how Soldiers train and provide insight into the day to day operations.

20150818fortjackson.jpg  During the tour, visitors will be assigned drill sergeants, experience reception, learn to shoot the M16A2 simulator, eat lunch with the Soldiers and get answers to questions about Basic Combat Training, Fort Jackson, and the Army.

The tour is open to people ages 13 and older. Reservations are required by Feb. 12. The tour begins at 7:30 a.m. Lunch cost is $5.55. For more information or to register please call Fort Jackson Community Relations at (803) 751-1474.
