Darian Stewart has come too far to let an injury keep him from playing at football’s pinnacle.  The former Gamecock and Denver Broncos safety says he will be ready for Super Bowl 50 despite spraining his knee in yesterday’s 20-18 win against the New England Patriots in the AFC championship game.

Stewart, who had an interception but had to watch the end of the AFC title game from the sidelines, told DenverBroncos.com, “”I just got rolled up on,” Stewart said of his right knee injury. “A lineman fell on my leg and it just hurt. It’s something that’s going to take rehab, but I’ll be back in two weeks.”

Stewart, a 3-star high school prospect from Huntsville, Alabama, went undrafted after a solid college career as a Gamecock from 2006-09.  He played with the St. Louis Rams from 2010-13, the Baltimore Ravens in 2014 and caught on in Denver in 2015.
