Spartanburg deputy suspended after complaint
SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) — Spartanburg County authorities say a sheriff’s deputy has been suspended after a suspect accused him of assault.
Lt. Tony Ivey says Deputy Clayton Bradley was suspended Friday without pay.
Authorities say the suspension came after 21-year-old Collier Bruce Simmons complained that he was assaulted while under Bradley’s supervision. That charge is being investigated by the State Law Enforcement Division.
Simmons was arrested and charged with public disorderly conduct.
Records show he was released from jail Friday on less than $300 bond.
