Myrtle Beach reptile expo under way this weekend

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) — Fans of things that go “hiss” in the night are gathering this weekend in Myrtle Beach to celebrate all things that slither.

The Myrtle Beach Reptile Expo is under way this weekend at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center.

This is the first year for the event. Admission is $8 per person, but kids three and younger are free.

Organizers say plenty of critters are for sale, from $5 corn snakes to bigger species that cost tens of thousands of dollars.

There are also opportunities for face painting and venom extraction demonstrations.
