“I totally wasn’t expecting it”: Man using winning lottery ticket to make last house payment

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — One man in the Midlands is using his winning lottery ticket to make his last house payment, said lottery officials.

The man won a $300,000 windfall on a $10 scratch-off ticket he bought at The Wildwood Market on Wildwood Lane in Lugoff.

“I totally wasn’t expecting it,” the winner told South Carolina Education Lottery officials.

He told lottery officials that after scratching the ticket he looked it over several times to be sure he really did win.

“I couldn’t tell you why I picked that ticket, I’m glad I did,” he said.
