University of South Carolina students held rally in support of Palestine
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — Students at the University of South Carolina held a walk-out and rally in support of a free Palestine on the patio of the campus’s Russell House.
People at the rally said they were calling for a ceasefire in Gaza and justice for the Palestinian people.
Also, supporters at the rally said Palestinians deserve to have their basic human rights of food and water met and to be able to live on their land in peace.
ABC Columbia spoke with one of the students at the rally on Thursday.
“Palestinian people are being villainized just for being Palestinian and being born in a certain area which could have happened to any one of us. So we are speaking up,” said USC student, Sadeen Sarhan.
The rally was organized by multiple groups on USC’s campus including “Students for Justice in Palestine”.
