Local Living on ABC Columbia brought to you by MUSC Health
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– In today’s look at local living, the Newberry County Sheriff’s Office is hosting “Operation Santa Claus”.
Now through Dec.8, anyone can donate items like gift cards and new toys to fill Santa’s shop to give kids a Christmas they’ll never forget.
You can drop off the items at the sheriff’s office headquarters on Wilson Road.
Everyone can enjoy a light show at Riverbanks Zoo.
During ‘Wild Lights’ spectators can encounter nearly 60 larger-than-life handcrafted lanterns inspired by nature.
Along the way, they’ll experience interactive displays, fun new photo-ops, and nightly snowfall.
Plus kids can enjoy visits with Santa.
The event runs on select nights now through Jan.14 and tickets are available online.
There will be a Christmas holiday market next month.
You can shop through an endless supply of boutiques, crafters, artisans, and more.
It takes place on Dec.2 through Dec.3 at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center.
It costs $7 for adults and is free for kids 12 and under.
