REPORT: South Carolina is top transfer destination for SEC quarterback

One SEC quarterback has South Carolina at the top of his list.

On Wednesday afternoon, Brad Crawford of 247 Sports reported that Arkansas quarterback KJ Jefferson will enter the transfer portal this offseason, and “South Carolina is the frontrunner” for the Arkansas quarterback.

One of the SEC’s most talented quarterbacks, Jefferson threw for 45 touchdowns and only nine interceptions over a 24-game span from 2021-22, leading the Razorbacks to a 16-10 record, including two bowl wins and a top 25 finish.

Jefferson is a dual-threat quarterback with 1,876 yards rushing with 21 scores during his time at Arkansas.

The connection makes sense. One of his former coaches at Arkansas, Dowell Loggains, is now the offensive coordinator at South Carolina, though it is important to note that Jefferson took to Instagram Wednesday saying no decision has been made about his future yet.

South Carolina is looking for a new QB1 with Spencer Rattler declaring for the 2024 NFL Draft on Wednesday.
