Two People Arrested with $50,000 Worth of Marijuana in Sumter
Sumter Police say an undercover investigation led them to 10 kilos of marijuana and thousands of dollars in cash
SUMTER, S.C. (WOLO)- Sumter Police say an undercover investigation led them to 10 kilos of marijuana and thousands of dollars in cash.
Officials say 34-year-old David Dennis and 24-year-old Asia Taylor were arrested late Friday in Sumter. They’re each charged with trafficking marijuana.
Both were booked at the Sumter-Lee Regional Detention Center where Dennis remains pending bond.
Detectives in the department’s Organized Crime and Vice Control Unit served a warrant Friday at the home of the suspects, Archdale Apartments on Archdale Drive, following an ongoing investigation.
More than $14,000 in cash and packages of marijuana with an estimated value of about $50,000 were found at the time of the arrests.
An investigation continues.
