Troopers: Driver dead after striking ditch
SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– One person is dead after a collision that happened on US-521, said state troopers.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the collision happened on Dec. 9, four miles South of Sumter around 11:15 a.m.
Troopers said the driver was traveling South on US-521 when the vehicle traveled off the right side of the road and struck a ditch and a culvert.
The driver was taken to a nearby hospital where the driver later died.
The accident is under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
