Local Living: Town of Lexington throwing annual Snowball Festival Carnival

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– In today’s look at Local Living, Building Better Communities is hosting its 10th annual ‘Joyous Christmas’ event this weekend.
The organization will give free gifts to less fortunate families on Saturday, Dec. 16 at 10 a.m. at Grace Christian Church in Columbia.
There will also be awards and performances.
The Town of Lexington is throwing its annual Snowball Festival Carnival on Saturday, Dec. 16 at the Icehouse Amphitheater.
The event runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will feature small carnival rides, face painting, balloon art and more.
The event is free to the public.
Riverbanks Zoo is hosting a light show on select nights from now through Jan. 14.
During ‘Wild Lights’ spectators can encounter nearly 60 larger-than-life handcrafted lanterns inspired by nature.
Along the way, they’ll experience interactive displays, fun new photo-ops and nightly snowfall.
Plus kids can enjoy visits from Santa.

You can bring home a furry friend for the holidays.
Columbia Animal Services is hosting an adoption special for all dogs for $25.
The special runs through Sunday, Dec. 31.
