Man sentenced to life for murder of Midlands teen

Lexington Co., S.C. (WOLO)– The 11th Circuit Solicitor’s Office says Lavon Julius, 43, was sentenced to life in prison Wednesday for the murder of Zeloni Ellison, 15 in 2022.

Officials say in June of that  year Julius shot Ellison four times outside of his grandmother’s apartment off of Roberts St. in Lexington.

According to Solicitor Rick Hubbard, testimony in court revealed Julius shot and killed the teen because he was “irritated” by him.

Hubbard says Julius has prior convictions for strong arm robbery, assault and battery high and aggravated, and assault with intent to kill.
