Fort Jackson: Expect Traffic Due to Mass Casualty Exercise

fort-jackson.jpgFORT JACKSON, S.C. (AP)– Those who work or intend to visit Fort Jackson are being warned a mass casualty exercise may snarl traffic near its entrance.

Army spokesman Pat Jones says people can expect longer than usual wait times to enter the installation on Tuesday, and that some entrances may be closed for a time during the exercises.

Jones says that because officials are planning to set up multiple simulated incidents, traffic may be halted at some entrances and exits to the installation along Interstate 77 and elsewhere.

Witnesses may see the use of numerous rescue vehicles and emergency personnel. They may also see officials from both the Army and local community, as well as transports going to local hospitals, but they should not be alarmed.
