Heavy rains continue along SC’s south coast
CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — For those who live on South Carolina’s south coast, it’s hard to imagine people have recently been talking about a drought.
Heavy rains have fallen since Tuesday and the National Weather Service says the pattern will continue into early Thursday.
The forecast calls for heavy showers and thunderstorms dropping as much as 2 to 4 inches of rain per hour. As much as 4 inches of rain fell early Wednesday between Edisto Island and Folly Beach with up to 2 inches of rain along the rest of the south coast.
Thursday things will start to dry out. But it will be much hotter and the weather service says heat advisories may be needed into next week.
