Cops: 8 gang members charged in Blair man’s death
BLAIR, S.C. (AP) — Fairfield County deputies say eight gang members waiting in a parking lot to ambush a drug dealer decided to follow the owner of the store home and attack him instead.
Investigators told WIS-TV (http://bit.ly/psUUIO ) that seven of the men were arrested over the past few days and an eighth is being sought on a murder charge.
Deputies say the men waited for a drug dealer they planned on robbing in the parking lot of 64-eyar-old Leon Wright’s store in Blair on Saturday night, but the dealer didn’t show.
So authorities say the men followed Wright home, kicked in his door, tried to rob him and shot and killed him as they left.
Deputies say seven of the men are charged with murder and the eighth is charged as an accessory.
