Iconic cow still to spin over Charleston street
CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — Some Charleston residents are happy with the decision to keep a cow sign on a city street.
The Post and Courier of Charleston reported that the Coburg Cow will remain, even though the diary has been purchased by Borden Dairy of South Carolina.
Borden’s general manager Ed Meadors says the company has no plans to move or change the cow that rotates on an elevated sign on Savannah Highway.
The cow has looked out over the highway since the 1950s when it marked the entrance to the Coburg Dairy that once operated nearby.
