Man Pistol-Whipped Woman Knocking Out Her Teeth, Police Say

SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) – Police say a Sumter man pistol-whipped a woman last week knocking out several of her teeth.

47-year-old Toney Tierene Cooper is behind bars and is charged with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

On Saturday, May 14 Cooper allegedly went a residence in the 500 block of National Street where he assaulted the victim by beating her in the head and face with a handgun, causing several lacerations and breaking out several teeth.
