WATCH: City of Columbia Reviews New Zoning Ordinance

The City of Columbia is working to change its zoning ordinance.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – The City of Columbia is working to change its zoning ordinance.

Officials held a public meeting Monday night to discuss the new ordinance and land development regulations.

A draft of “Module One” was reviewed.  It includes general provisions, procedures for development review, enforcement provisions, rule of interpretation and relevant definitions.

The current ordinance has not been updated since the 1970s.  Officials say they hope to have the new ordinance finished by the end of the year.
