Son comes home for Christmas, kills mom, then self

SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (AP) _ Investigators say a man coming home for Christmas killed his mother in her Summerville home, then drove away and killed himself. Dorchester County sheriff’s deputies say 61-year-old Lynda Pages’ other son found her body slumped on the couch in the living room Thursday night, a puddle of blood at her feet. Authorities think Pages was killed by her 31-year-old son, Bertrand Pages, whose body was found in his car in a parking lot Friday morning. Coroner Chris Nisbet says Bertrand Pages committed suicide. Authorities say the other son last talked to his mother around 9 p.m. Wednesday when she told him Bertrand Pages had arrived for Christmas. A neighbor told deputies they heard a loud boom about an hour later.
