Spartanburg School Security Plans

(WOLO) Spartanburg, SC. — The last of the victims in the Sandy Hook Elementary school mass shooting were laid to rest Saturday. While residents there start moving towards healing, other school districts are looking for ways to keep incidents like this from happening again. The Spartanburg County School district is one of them. Beginning in January, the district reportedly plans to post off duty deputies at each of their 10 elementary schools. The officers would remain at the school throughout the semester. School officials say this is the one way they can take a proactive approach to the recent events and keep their students and staff as safe as possible.
