Chaos on the campaign trail: Trump rally protest turns violent
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) _ Authorities in New Mexico are characterizing an anti-Donald Trump demonstration outside a campaign rally as a “riot.”
Authorities say demonstrators threw burning T-shirts, plastic bottles and other items at police officers last night, injuring several, and toppled trash cans and barricades.
Police fired pepper spray and smoke grenades.
Inside, Trump was interrupted repeatedly by protesters. The presumptive Republican presidential nominee fired back at demonstrators who tried to interrupt his rally last night in Albuquerque. Trump told protesters to “Go home to mommy,” and one woman was physically dragged from the stands by security.
