Police: Two charged in separate but related shootings

Columbia, S.C. (WOLO)– Columbia Police say two men are facing charges related to shootings at North Pointe Estates, an apartment complex on Ripplemeyer Ave.

Investigators say on January 10 Tyrone Thompson, 18, shot a 16 year old boy in the upper body during an attempted robbery.

Police say the next morning William Wright, 21, a relative of the 16 year old victim tried to kick in the door of an apartment before firing multiple shots into the home.

Investigators say they believe Wright was acting in retaliation after the previous shooting.

No one was injured.
