Newberry County deputies warn residents of scam

NEWBERRY COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– The Newberry County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents about a recent scam, said the sheriff’s office.

Newberry County deputies say residents have been receiving fake calls from Publishers’ Clearing House.

The caller is telling the victim that they will receive millions if they pay a fee of $500.

Deputies warn that if anyone is asked to pay a fee or asked for gift cards, it is a scam.
