Google announces two new AI tools

(CNN)– Google searches on some android phones are about to become a lot more powerful thanks to new AI tools.

One is called “Circle to Search” which will allow users to circle or highlight items that appear on their smartphone screens to learn more about them.

“Circle to Search” is launching on Jan. 31, on select premium android smartphones.

That includes Samsung Galaxy S24 series and the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 pro.

The second tool launched Thursday will let people either upload or point their mobile camera and ask a question via the Google app to get information.
