Midlands man charged in child pornography investigation

Richland Co., S.C. (WOLO)– Ricland Co. deputies say John Taylor, 20 is charged with eight counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor.

Investigators say on September 5th of last year deputies received a tip from the Attorney General’s Office in reference to child pornography.

Deputies say a subsequent investigation determined Taylor had child pornography files at his home as well as on his laptop and his phone.

Officials say he is currently being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.

“It makes me sick to my stomach to think that innocent children are being victimized in the creation of child pornography,” Sheriff Lott said. “Internet crimes are not a victimless offense.”
