COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster has released a statement supporting Texas’ self-defense right in response to the Biden Administration’s statements on their border security effort.

Governor McMaster said he stands in solidarity with Governor Greg Abbott and the state of Texas while the state uses tools and strategies to secure their border.

He is joined by other Republication governors from states like Florida, Georgia, Arkansas and many more.

“We do it in part because the Biden Administration is refusing to enforce immigration laws already on the books and is illegally allowing mass parole across America of migrants who entered our country illegally,” expressed.

McMaster said President Biden and his administration left Americans vulnerable to illegal immigration on the Southern border.

“Instead of upholding the rule of law and securing the border, the Biden Administration has attacked and sued Texas for stepping up to protect American citizens from historic levels of illegal immigrants, deadly drugs like fentanyl, and terrorists entering our country,” stated the governor.

On May 31, 2023, Governor McMaster directed the deployment of South Carolina National Guard troops to Texas to help secure the U.S. Southern border following the end of Title 42.
