Clemson University warns poultry owners about possible Bird-Flu

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Officials with Clemson University say anyone with a backyard flock should isolate their birds from any wild water-birds and the bodies of water they inhabit.

A Clemson spokesperson says the warning comes after backyard flocks in Orangeburg and Horry County died after contracting a highly contagious type of Bird-Flu.

Flock owners are asked to report sick or dead poultry to your local Clemson extension.
