Firefighters respond to Hand Middle School

Columbia, S.C. (WOLO)– You may have seen emergency vehicles responding to Hand Middle School Wednesday morning.

A spokesperson for Richland School District One says the Columbia Fire Dept. was called to investigate a peculiar smell in the building.

The Columbia Police Department also confirmed the issue.

District officials say the all clear was given just a short time later.
