Body found in woods identified as missing SC woman

GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) — Authorities have determined a body found in woods is a missing Greenville County woman.

The coroner’s office said Monday that X-rays were used to identify 42-year-old Linda New.

New was missing for four days before her body was found Friday. Investigators say she was last seen leaving a Greenville County house with her nephew, who came home several hours later saying he was attacked and had no idea where he aunt was.

Authorities did not release a cause of death. They say they are still investigating.
