Medical Marijuana once again clears SC Senate, heads to House

 

Columbia, S.C. (WOLO)– For the second time in as many session, the bill which would bring medical marijuana, known as the Compassionate Care Act is headed to the SC House of Representatives.

Tuesday afternoon the bill passed a second reading by a vote of 26 to 17.

After a third, largely procedural, vote Wednesday the bill will move to the Senate where it died in 2023.

The Compassionate Care Act would allow non-smokeable marijuana to be used to treat a variety of ailments including cancer and glaucoma.
