Lamont Paris named candidate for Ohio State job, per reports

The South Carolina Gamecocks have been wildly successful under head coach Lamont Paris, going 21-3 this season and 9-2 in the SEC, and that success is bringing a lot of positive attention to Paris and his staff, including one notable Big Ten school.
According to multiple reports Wednesday, Ohio State is considering Paris for the Buckeyes’ opening, after the school fired coach Chris Holtmann on Wednesday.
Paris will be in the running for national coach of the year after he turned around a four-win Carolina team to more than 20 wins this season. Ohio State has 6 games remaining in the season and will need to appoint a new head coach quickly as they are the first big school in the hunt for a new coach and want to successfully finish their season off under new leadership.
Should Paris leave, it would be a homecoming for the head coach, who’s originally from the state of Ohio.
Paris is currently making $2.2 million per season.
