Don’t look now but gas prices are rising fast

(CNN)– If you’ve filled up your gas tank this week, you probably noticed it cost you more.

The price of a gallon of gas went up twelve cents over the past week to reach a national average of $3.27.

That may have come as a bit of a shock since prices haven’t moved more than a few cents over the past few months.

The good news is it should only be temporary.

Highly influencing prices right now is the shut down of a massive BP refinery in Indiana.

It’s been offline for more than two weeks due to a power outage.
