Richland Co. investigating late Wednesday night shooting, say deputies

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– The Richland County Sheriff’s Department is investigating after a man was shot late Wednesday night, say investigators.

Law enforcement say the shooting took place in the 100 block of Sunny Acres Drive on Wednesday, Feb. 21, around 11:30 p.m.

When deputies arrived to the scene they found an unresponsive man with multiple gunshot wounds in his torso area lying outside a home.

Deputies say family members were inside of the home when the shooting happened and heard gunshots.

They told investigators right after the shots they heard the motor of a vehicle speeding away. The man was pronounced dead on scene by EMS.
