Apple pulls plug on plan for electric car, report says

(CNN)– Multiple media outlets report Apple has bonded a decade-long effort to build a self-driving electric car.

Bloomberg reports many employees working on the project will be moved to the company’s artificial intelligence division.

Electric vehicle sales have been disappointing in the US, prompting several major manufacturers to pull back on investments.

Apple never confirmed long-running speculation it would make an EV.

But it had taken several steps over the past 10 years that suggested it was serious about its car efforts.

Internally it was called “Project Titan”.

Apple has not publicly commented on the reports of the company pulling the plus on the project.
