Columbia Police Department held Ceasefire Columbia event

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– In an effort to help reduce crime in the Midlands, the Columbia Police Department held their annual Ceasefire event at the Busby Street Community Center last night.

Multiple law enforcement divisions came out with the goal to deter gun crime, develop and promote community outreach efforts, as well as provide training for participants.

Multiple previsions were also made to slow the rate of repeat offenders.

ABC Columbia spoke with Columbia Police Chief Skip Holbrook on the effort of this year’s Ceasefire event.

Chief Holbrook also says that any reoffender will be the first in live for prosecution and imprisonment.
