Police: NC Teen Arrested After Shooting BB Gun at School Bus

CHARLOTTE, NC (WCCB) – CMPD officers arrested a 17-year-old Wednesday morning after they say he shot a BB gun at a school bus in east Charlotte.

Police say the shooting happened on Dion Avenue around 8:45am. The driver of bus #43 reported that a person had shot a BB gun at the bus and shattered one of the windows.

The bus was carrying 47 students to Idlewild Road Elementary School when the incident happened. No injuries were reported, and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools officials say counselors will be available for the students.

Officers located a 17-year-old suspect inside his home on Dion Avenue with the BB gun and took him into custody without incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
