3 men shot in downtown Charleston

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — Three men have been shot and taken to a hospital following a shooting in downtown Charleston.

The Post and Courier of Charleston reported http://bit.ly/nL2dAl the shooting happened shortly after 12:30 a.m. Thursday and neighbors were awakened by sound of gun shots.

About a dozen police officers responded to the scene to find the three men on the ground. They had been shot several times.

Police are searching for those responsible but have not said if any arrests have been made.

The victims were taken to the Medical University of South Carolina. Their conditions were not immediately released.
