Construction to Close Main Entrance to Owens Field Park

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– Get ready to take a new route if you are headed to the main entrance at Owens Field Park.

City officials say it will close to traffic on Monday, Sept. 26 due to the park’s new construction and renovation project, the City of Columbia Parks & Recreation Department announced.

Visitors must use the South Ott Road gate to enter the park located at 1351 Jim Hamilton Blvd.

The project includes construction of a Miracle League Baseball field and boundless playground, renovations of ball fields, walkways, vehicular round-about and stormwater improvements, say officials.
