Body found washed ashore in Horry County identified as Columbia man

(WPDE) — Jon Wright, 26, of Columbia was identified as the person who washed ashore near the Springmaid Pier on Tuesday afternoon, according to Horry County Coroner Patty Bellamy.
Horry County police responded to the Nash Street beach access to investigate after he was found dead in the ocean.
A woman told authorities that she called out to Wright multiple times when she found him floating in the tides.
She then went out and rolled him over and realized he was beyond any lifesaving efforts.
