Delta to update how it boards passengers

(CNN)–Delta flyers prepare to be zoned. What’s old is new again as the airline returns to numbered zones for boarding.

Delta abandoned the idea of zones in 2019 and starting calling passengers by category names.

Those categories aren’t changing but they’ll be assigned zones.

So starting next month passengers will be in zones 1 through 8 which will be printed on boarding passes.
