Coroner identifies person dead after Wednesday night shooting

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– The Richland County Sheriff’s Department says deputies responded to a shooting in the 100 block of Cottage Court.

When deputies arrived to the Wednesday night, May 1 scene,  a victim was found outside near a driveway and they attempted to render aid until EMS arrived to the scene.

RCSD says the victim appeared to have a gunshot wound to the head. EMS arrived at the scene and took over aid to the victim but they died from their injuries.

Richland County Coroner Naida Rutherford says the victim was Tobias E. Williams, 22, of Eastover.

Deputies believe there was a dark in color sedan involved in the shooting.
