General Hospital star and Charleston native Johnny Wactor killed in downtown LA shooting

(CNN) — A suspected thief shot and killed former General Hospital actor Johnny Wactor on Saturday.

Police say the shooting occurred while Wactor and a co-worker were walking to Wactor’s car after leaving their jobs at a rooftop bar. Wactor noticed activity around the vehicle and thought it was being towed.

When Wactor approached several men to ask what was going on, a gunman opened fire. The suspects then drove off. Police say they were trying to steal a catalytic converter.

Wactor died of his wounds at a hospital. Police are now trying to find those responsible.

Wactor played Brando Corbin on General Hospital from 2020 to 2022. His agent called the 37-year-old actor a spectacular actor who was known for his hard work, tenacity, and never give up attitude.
