Local Living: SC’s largest fireworks show, Miss SC competition, Battle of the Badges Blood Drive

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)— In today’s look at Local Living, get ready for South Carolina’s largest fireworks show this Saturday at the 36th annual 4th of July celebration.
Fireworks will launch at 9:30 p.m. from Spence and Dreher Island.
Public viewing locations for the fireworks include both Lake Murray Public Park sites at the Dam and Dreher Island.
Miss South Carolina and Miss South Carolina Teen competitions will begin from Wednesday, June 26, to Friday, June 28, at the Township Auditorium.
The winners will be crowned this Saturday in the finals.
Jada Samuel of Bridge City won last year’s Miss South Carolina and Margaret Turner from Greenwood won the 2023 teen pageant.
Tickets are on sale now.
The Battle of the Badges Blood Drive kicks off this Friday, June 28.
Columbia Police, fire departments, and the Richland County Sheriff’s Department are battling it out to see which agency donates the most blood.
Donors can give blood and vote for their favorite agency at the Decker Center on Decker Boulevard and the American Red Cross Office on Bull Street.
