South Carolina Foster Care Review Board celebrates 50th anniversary

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– The South Carolina Foster Care Review Board has been working to advocate for care for foster children for half a century.

Thursday, July 11, Governor Henry McMaster and other state officials celebrated the board’s 50th anniversary.

The Foster Care Review Board was created in July 1974 to advocate for permanency and to provide external accountability for children in foster care.

The board operates within the State Department of Children’s Advocacy.
