Media picks Gamecocks to finish 13th in SEC

Dallas, TX (WOLO)–During his appearance at SEC Media Days in Dallas, TX on Monday Shane Beamer predicted the media would have the Gamecocks picked to finish near the bottom of the league…he wasn’t wrong.

In the preseason media poll released Friday, South Carolina was picked to finish 13th in the 16-team league.

This is the first season since 1992 in which the Southeastern Conference will not compete in divisions.

Instead the top two teams in the league will play in the championship game in Atlanta in December.

If the media is right it’ll be Georgia and Texas squaring off for the title.

It is worth noting that only 9 times since 1992 has the media correctly picked the SEC Champion.
