“Maintaining this incredible momentum of philanthropy since 2014 is no easy feat,”
said Ada Brown Belton, Assistant Vice President for Institutional Advancement for
Benedict College. “A decade of overachieving our financial goal has been led by
some remarkably dedicated alumni.”
College administrators say they applaud the leaders of this years record breaking campaign, Chairwoman Dr. Elsie Hamler
and Co-Chair Marlene McClerklin whom were able to reach this amazing milestone with the help of 10 dedicated volunteers. Benedict College Public Information Officer Kymm Hunter tells ABC Columbia News the money raised from the donors will go toward academically based scholarships.
Dr. Roslyn Clark Artis, President and CEO of Benedict College says the colleges alumni are constantly going above and beyond to effect change at the school. Going on to say,
“Although our alumni body is
small in numbers, they are large in their giving and support of the College. Our
alumni who contribute to the Annual Fund far exceeds the amounts given at larger
institutions.”
